Divider Rail
A divider rail is a no-cost option. It is a stationary horizontal rail in your plantation shutters. It allows the bottom and top louvers to operate independently. This is nice if you want the bottom louvers to be closed for privacy, but the top louvers to be open for light. We can place a divider rail at most any height within the plantation shutters. It is sometimes good to try and line up a divider rail with other divisions already within the window.
Divider rails also provide additional structural strength. A divider rail is usually required for very tall at plantation shutters, usually 72 inches high or higher.
Measuring Note: When measuring for divider rails, measure from the bottom of the shutters to the middle of where you want the divider rail (see illustration). Due to the way plantation shutters are constructed, actual divider rail position may vary a little from what you specify. Also, some panels may have an odd number of louvers. If your panels have an odd number of louvers and you request a divider rail to be in the middle of your shutters, you will need to have an extra louver either above or below the divider rail. Therefore, if you are ordering on-line and specify your divider rails to be in the middle of your window, you will also want to specify where you would like the extra louver (above or below the divider rail) in case it is required.

Framing Choices Choose how many
Frame Sides are not applicable to an Inside Mount - Direct Mount since this mounting method does not have frames. However, for all other mounting methods, you can choose the sides of the window that you want to have frames. You can have different windows with different frame sides. For example, if you have a window with a protruding window sill, you may choose frame sides of "Three". If a window in the next room does not have a protruding window sill, you may choose frame sides of "Four".

For Mount please select either Inside or Outside Mount.
Inside Mount means that you will be installing your new blinds inside your window frame.
Outside Mount means that you will be installing your new blinds outside your window frame, either on wall or ceiling.
Here are some of our tips on how to measure...
Inside Mount
WIDTH: Measure the width of the window opening in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom). Take the smallest of the 3 measurements (rounded to the nearest 1/8 inch) and write it down. This is the width you will order. Do not make any deductions! The factory will make any necessary deductions.
HEIGHT: Measure the window opening height in 3 places (left, middle, right) but this time take the largest measurement (rounded to the nearest 1/8 inch). This is the height you will order. The factory will make no deductions or additions to the length measurement. NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO VERTICAL BLINDS. FOR VERTICAL BLINDS, IT WOULD BE THE SMALLEST.
Outside Mount:
WIDTH: Measure the width of the window opening from left to right and add 4"to 6" for maximum light gap coverage and privacy. If the shade is to be mounted to trim or framing around the window measure from the trim's outside edge left to right. Keep in mind that on roller shades the factory will NOT make deductions from your measurements on both the barrel and fabric. Once you determine the desired width (rounded to the nearest 1/8 inch) write it down.
HEIGHT: To determine the height measure the window opening from top to bottom and add 2" to 4" inches to this measurement to allow space for mounting brackets above the opening.

Select Panels Configurations

Panels configuration is simply how you would like your plantation shutters to be hinged. The most popular panels configurations are shown below. However, we can configure your plantation shutters in any way you desire, so please let us know if you do not see what you want. You will notice that several panels configurations below utilize T posts. A T post is a post that we provide that gives you more flexibility in how you can hinge your plantation shutters. T posts add strength and allow you to do very wide windows. By using T posts, you can do windows almost any width. Measuring Note: If you want a panel configuration that requires T posts, the T posts are positioned by default such that all shutter panels in each window are made to be equal widths. However, if you would like your T posts to be located otherwise, you will need to measure from the left side of the shutters to the middle of where you would like each T post.
